THE HORSE OF DEATH STORY FOCUS (Page 10)
‘My grandson Unal was ill with the measles. He had red spots all over his face. I was very worried about him, and told him to stay in bed. But it was a beautiful day and the sun was shining, and Unal didn’t want to stay in bed. I know he often got out and stood at the window, looking out. I told him, ‘You must stay in bed or you will catch cold. Then you will get a fever and die like your grandfather.’ But later in the afternoon, when I went to look in his room again, Unal wasn’t there. I looked everywhere for him. The next morining we found him on the back of the black horse in the window of the toy shop. He was dead, but he had a smile on his face. We buried Unal and the horse together. I can never forget that terrible day...’
